How this Mii compatibility score works
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream gives each Mii a profile shaped by personality, dating preferences, voices, quirks, and the player's choices. Nintendo has not published a public relationship formula that guarantees friendships, dating, marriage, or babies. This calculator is therefore a transparent planning model, not a claim about hidden game data.
It compares two profiles using the inputs you can reason about before play: Energy, Optimism, Tidiness, and a planner style label. A high score means the two profiles are easy to test together in your island plan. A low score can still be useful because contrast pairs create variety. For real gameplay, keep giving Miis chances to meet, watch reactions, answer prompts, and pay attention to the preferences the game reveals over time.
What the score measures
The tool weights visible planning inputs instead of inventing a secret romance rule. Use the table to understand exactly what the calculator is doing before you rely on the result.
| Input | How it affects the score | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Energy | Closer values raise the shared trait score. | Match Energy for a calmer test pair; contrast it for island variety. |
| Optimism | Closer values raise the shared trait score. | Use it to decide whether two Miis should feel emotionally similar. |
| Tidiness | Closer values raise the shared trait score. | Use it as a household-style note when planning rooms and routines. |
| Planner style | Matching or complementary labels add a bonus. | Treat the label as your own planning shorthand, not a documented game category. |
How to read the result
The percentage is most useful when it leads to a concrete island decision. Do not treat any band as a promise that the game will create a specific relationship.
| Score band | Planning meaning | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| 88-100 | Very similar planning traits. | Place the Miis near each other and watch for early prompts. |
| 72-87 | Strong fit with some room for contrast. | Use them as a likely friendship or romance test pair. |
| 55-71 | Balanced fit. | Keep both active and let normal island events decide the story. |
| 38-54 | Mixed fit. | Use gifts and routine check-ins before judging the pair. |
| 0-37 | Contrast pair. | Use them for variety, comedy, or a non-romance island role. |
After calculating
Turn the result into a useful setup choice. The safest workflow is to create a small cast, test a few pairings, and then expand the island only after the residents are easy to recognize.
- Write down the two Miis, their score, and the role you expect them to play.
- Check dating preferences in the Mii guide if romance is part of the plan.
- Give both residents normal care: food, clothes, gifts, and chances to meet.
- Respond to advice prompts without assuming one prompt can force an outcome.
- Use low-score pairs for variety instead of deleting them immediately.
Mii compatibility calculator FAQ
Is this a published Tomodachi Life formula?
No. Nintendo has not published a compatibility formula for guaranteed friendships, dating, marriage, or babies. This tool shows its simple planning model directly on the page.
Can a high score guarantee dating or marriage?
No. Relationships in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream still depend on settings, events, advice prompts, and autonomous Mii behavior.
What should I do after calculating?
Use the score as a creation note, then introduce the Miis, keep both happy, and watch for relationship prompts during normal island play.
Why use planner styles instead of exact game categories?
The style labels are transparent planning shorthand for this tool. They help compare two profiles without pretending that a hidden in-game category has been confirmed.
